Police have uncovered a dangerous scam where fake pastors by day and traditional healers by night are fleecing Ugandans of their hard-earned cash.
According to police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, these con artists have been posing as religious figures, holding “church services” to gain the trust of their victims. But at night, they flip the script, using shrines and pretending to offer healing services in a sinister double life.
Victims, who have lost millions in cash and valuables, say when they demand refunds, the fraudsters don’t apologize, they threaten to curse them or worse. The police have already identified several suspects, with plans to expose them and bring them to justice.
“Be careful. These fake pastors and healers are targeting vulnerable Ugandans. We will get them,” Rusoke warned.
The police are urging anyone who has crossed paths with these deceitful scammers to report them immediately. Stay alert and don’t let these criminals take advantage of you.
