Kira Road Police have arrested 42 suspects in a major intelligence-led operation targeting criminal hideouts in Kyebando, Mulimira, Kamwokya, and Bukoto.
The operation, conducted between 12:00 AM and 4:40 AM, on Wednesday, focused on individuals using drainage channels as hideouts and those pretending to engage in late-night betting while allegedly plotting criminal activities.
Patrick Onyango, the KMP Police spokesman says authorities recovered several exhibits from identified black spots known to harbor criminals. He further says that screening of the suspects will be conducted with the help of local leaders, and those found culpable will face court proceedings.
Onyango has hailed the operation as a success and pledged to continue similar crackdowns to maintain order and security in the area.
