Police in Rwampara District have arrested Kyomugyemo Dinavence (53), a resident of Kaaya cell, Ngugo parish, Bugamba Sub-county, in connection with the murder of her husband, Byakatonda Geresiano.

According to preliminary police reports, Byakatonda left home on March 16, 2025, saying he was going to church, but he was later found dead the next morning at 7:30 AM by students heading to school. His body was discovered in a eucalyptus plantation along Binyuga-Munyere road.

Following the gruesome discovery, police deployed a K-9 sniffer dog, Hector, which led officers directly to the deceased’s home. A search of the premises uncovered a bloodstained iron bar in the compound and a white mosquito net with bloodstains hidden under a bed.

Investigators have also established that Byakatonda and his wife had ongoing domestic disputes, raising suspicions about a possible motive. Police have confirmed that inquiries and investigations are ongoing, with more details expected as the case unfolds.
