Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta spent two nights in Kampala and Kigali to try and convince President Yoweri Museveni and President Paul Kagame over the ongoing deadlock at the Katuna and Gatuna borders.

President Kagame slammed the door shut a week ago for citizens crossing into Uganda over counter accusations between the two neighbouring brothers.

Uhuru was in Kampala on Monday afternoon and President Museveni confirmed in a tweet on his Twitter account: “Hosted at State House Entebbe this afternoon.”

On the substance of their meeting, President Museveni revealed: “We discussed issues of bilateral interest to our countries.”

Celebrated Ugandan journalist Charles Onyango Obbo reported the Kenyan leader’s visit to Kigali by posting pictures on his Twitter account.

Obbo tweetted: “Seen in Gabiro, Rwanda, today. Kenya prez hanging out with – who drove him. Any guesses what they were talking about? Surely Uganda-Rwanda kerfuffle must have been an item on the menu.”
