Yes, the Zzina Awards 2017-18 nominees have been confirmed and the battle for votes can now START on www.galaxyfm.co.ug/awards.
The nominees were announced yesterday evening at a ceremony held at the Galaxy FM offices in Kansanga.
Briefing the press at the ceremony, Galaxy FM CEO Innocent Nahabwe acknowledged that the artistes are nominated entirely on merit and the fans will decide the ultimate winners in the different categories.
Dr. Nahabwe explained: “In the last Four years we have held our awards, we have not had any controversy trailing them.”
He said: “We believe the reason for this is because our awards are determined by the Galaxy FM listeners themselves.”
The Galaxy FM MD added: “The artistes recognized are those nominated and voted for by Galaxy FM listeners.”
He went on: “So all you will see is the urban, youthful entertainment talent being awarded.”
Dr. Innocent said: “These awards are purely about the votes and the nominees list comes from the nominations done via our Facebook and SMS platforms for the last one month.”
The winners will be announced and awarded at a ceremony slated for Thursday, 29th, March, 2018, at Sky beach Freedom City.
