Doris Akol has said her byes to staff at Uganda Revenue Authority after President Yoweri Museveni dropped the sharp axe on Sunday morning.
Doris Akol is a Ugandan lawyer and administrator. She was appointed to replace Allen Kagina as Uganda Revenue boss by Maria Kiwanuka, the then Ugandan Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
President Museveni has moved swiftly to replace Akol with John Musinguzi Rujoki. Musinguzi who until his appointment, has been a senior adviser to the President on investment and ICT.
He is not new to the authority after previously serving at Special Revenue Protection Services as head of finance and audit.
Musinguzi did his bachelors of Science in Mathematics at Makerere University and proceeded to University of Greenwich to do a masters in computing and information system.
President Museveni in his communication on Sunday morning, ordered the new URA boss to start his job immediately.
The President tweeted: “By virtue of powers granted to me by the Constitution, I have appointed Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of @URAuganda. This appointment takes immediate effect.”
Akol equally moved to inform staff at URA in an internal memo about her departure and requesting them to usher in Musinguzi and help him settle in quickly.
