The Covid-19 health team are having sleepless nights to ensure the country remains point of relevance.

Health minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng and the permanent secretary Dr. Diana Atwine have stepped up the fight against Covid-19 by combing the countryside to sensitize masses and assess preparedness within the hospitals.

Dr. Aceng traveled to west nile region to assess the preparedness of Arua Hospital which has the isolation centre for the Covid-19 patients.

The minister then visited Radio Pacis to take to the population about the virus.

The ministry confirmed: “The Minister of Health, @JaneRuth_Aceng is in Arua District meet the District Task Force to assess the COVID-19 Response in West Nile Region.”

Dr. Aceng said: “This is a time for unity, team work, sacrifice, hard work,selflessness and a time for no politics.”

The minister also met nurse Doris from Idiofe Health Centre III- the nurse who wheeled a patient from the HC III to Arua RRH for treatment on a wheelchair.

She applauded the nurse for her selfless work and commitment to save lives.

As part of her support supervision visit to assess COVID-19 response, @DianaAtwine  visited Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.

The ministry stated: “The hospital is well equipped with ventilators and oxygen cylinders to manage COVID-19 patients. Currently, there are NO COVID-19 patients at the hospital.”

Dr. Diana inspected status of the #COVIDresponse at district quarantine and Isolation centers.

She said: “This also aimed at evaluation of our controls at boarder points, where we still have a huge risk of cross border infection. We reached Mbarara Referral Hospital, Kikagati border and Mirama border.”

Dr. Diana then appeared on radio Kigezi to sensitize the population on Covid-19.
