Police in Rubirizi District are investigating the death of an Indian national who went missing from Bushenyi district on Tuesday but his lifeless body was discovered yesterday night.
Patel Abhisnek’s cold body was found floating in Lake Rutoto in Rubirizi District on Wednesday evening by shocked locals who had visited the lake to fetch water.
Abdu Mbamanya, Rutoto Cell Chairperson says the locals stormed his place with the news of an unidentified male lifeless body floating on the water.
Prior to his demise, the deceased had gone for a ride in his Toyota Wish vehicle registration number UBB 018K but vanished.
Kennedy Ocaya, the Officer in Charge of Rubirizi Police station, says this discovery comes a day after his colleagues filed a case of a missing person at Isahaka police station in Bushenyi district.
However, some of his close friends say he was kidnapped by unknown people, was killed, and later dumped in Lake Rutooto.
Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Region police spokesperson, says Patel’s body was taken to Kampala International Hospital for postmortem and cccording to the Indian culture, He was incinerated [burnt] yesterday.
However, police are still hunting for the missing car.
