Local Musician, Mark Bugembe is also known as Bucha man, has been thrown into police cells for frustrating a meeting between police, National Environment Management Authority – NEMA officials and locals in Katwe.
The meeting that started in the afternoon was organized by NEMA to address the problem of rising water levels and its effects on the distressed population.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala police spokesperson, says Bucha man stormed the meeting with a group of rowdy youth who disrupted the proceedings.
Onyango says Butcha man attempted to stop the meeting under the alleged reason that as a presidential advisor, he needed to first be consulted about the gathering for permission.
Onyango further narrated that Bucha man ordered the organizers to halt that the meeting using his mandate as President Museveni’s advisor.
Onyango said Bucha man was immediately arrested together with his bodyguard. The duo is currently detained at Katwe police station.
President Museveni in October last year appointed Bucha man to be his advisor on Ghetto matters and singer and Catherine Kusasira, as his advisor on Kampala during a meeting held at Kibuye, Makindye West constituency in Kampala.
